Students are able to check out books during their Media Center time. At the request of their teachers, Kindergarten students may check out ONE book during Media Center time. First-Six Grade students may check out TWO books per week. If they finish their books prior to their next Media Center time, the students are welcome to return and check out another book at a time their classroom teacher determines will work best. Please be sure to help your students keep their books safe and returned on time. If every student lost just one book, we would be short over 600 books per year!
I appreciate your support and hope you are able to enjoy the literature with your children.
There is always something to do in Havel's Media Center. We need helping hands who are willing to shelve books, straighten shelves, do some light house keeping, repair damaged books ,or help our younger students on the computers. Any extra help you can give us, we'd appreciate. Just stop by the office and fill out an UCS parent volunteer form . Once the form is complete, we can work together to find a time you are able to lend a hand! Please feel free to call 586-797-5286 or stop by anytime you happen to be in the building.
L2L2L "Learn to love to learn. Our kids MUST learn to love to learn. Think about our generation. We got a degree and worked for thirty years and got retirement and benefits. Where's that now? For our kids, where's that? So, if we teach them that that's the case... we're hurting them. See...our kids are going to have between twelve and fourteen careers in their lifetime, most of which have not been invented yet.How do you prepare kids for jobs that don't exist? The only thing we can do is to teach them to learn to love to learn." -Kevin Honeycutt
